What is the best time to visit Turkey?

Edited: May 5, 2017

Spring is the best time to visit Turkey, autumn is next, then summer, last winter.

Spring ( March, April, May, mid-June ) is prime because the weather is moderate throughout the country and the days are long.

Autumn ( mid-September, October ) is second best with mostly mild weather, but the days are shorter, and rain may begin again in October.

Summer ( mid-June, July, August, mid-September ) is quite hot in Turkey.

Winter( November, December, January, February) can be chill and rainy, with occasional cold .

  • Istanbul is a dream destination, it’s located in the edge of Europe where east meets west. Connecting the two continents, the city hides layers of history, culture, colors and scents. The architecture, the food, everything in Istanbul tells a story. The city is busy, fast, never stops, but when you need a break from all this fervid life there is always a nice garden, a small tea house or a mosque where you can seat, breath and relax.

  • I will be in Istanbul next month for business and would like to stay on for a few days of sightseeing. It looks like a great city to explore but given the tense political situation and some recent terrorist attacks I thought I'd ask other travelers. Thanks for any advice.
